Experiential Science Education - Yanayacu, Ecuador 2010

Emily McRae

Hometown:  Greeley, Colorado

University/Department:   University of Wyoming:  Department of Nursing

Why did you decide to go on the Yanayacu Research Trip?  It was a way to think outside the box and try something new.

What was the most important thing you learned?  it is easy to make a connection with something you never thought you would or people you would have never met.

How has this experience changed you?    It has broadened my respect for nature and everything around me.  I will never be able to look at a caterpillar, tree or even a spider in the same way.

What are your plans for the future?  I am going to finish my nursing degree.

What advice would you give a young scientist?  Don't back down because it sounds out of character. Go for it.
